چکیده

Abstract In direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA), frequency-domain equalization (FDE) based on minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion can be applied to exploit the channel frequency-selectivity and therefore can replace the conventional rake combining with much improved bit error rate (BER) performance. However, the residual inter-chip interference (ICI) is present after MMSE-FDE and hence the achievable BER performance is degraded compared to the lower bound performance. We proposed a frequency-domain ICI cancellation that can significantly suppress the residual ICI. In this paper, we propose DS-CDMA turbo equalization in which frequency-domain ICI cancellation is incorporated into iterative turbo decoding. The achievable BER performance is evaluated by computer simulation. Chip Interleaving for DS-CDMA with Frequency Domain Equalization in a Frequency Selective Rayleigh Fading Channel

Abstract DS-CDMA with frequency domain minimum mean square error (MMSE) equalization can provide much better performance than that with rake combining in a frequency selective fading channel. Chip interleaving is a form of channel interleaving that improves the DS-CDMA performance by converting the channel into a highly time selective channel. When frequency domain equalization is used, the fre...

Turbo-coded Hybrid ARQ for DS-CDMA with Frequency-domain Equalization

Abstract In this paper hybrid ARQ is applied to DS-CDMA with minimum mean square error frequency-domain equalization (MMSE-FDE). The throughput of turbo-coded HARQ is evaluated in addition to the packet error rate (PER). DS-CDMA with MMSE-FDE can provide much better PER performance than with rake combining in a frequency-selective fading channel and the performance improves with the increase in...

Throughput performance of HARQ using multicode DS-CDMA with MMSE turbo equalization

Abstract In the next generation wireless communication systems, high-speed packet services will be in great demand, and hence error control technique is indispensable. Hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) is a well-known important error controlling technique. Joint FDE and inter-chip interference (ICI) cancellation based on the minimum mean square error (MMSE) criterion can achieve frequency ...

Throughput Comparison of Turbo-Coded HARQ in OFDM, MC-CDMA and DS-CDMA with Frequency-Domain Equalization

OFDM, MC-CDMA and DS-CDMA are being researched vigorously as the prospective signaling technique for the next generation mobile communications systems, which will be characterized by the broadband packet technology. With packet transmissions, hybrid ARQ (HARQ) will be inevitable for error control. HARQ with rate compatible punctured turbo (RCPT) codes is one of the promising techniques. Data ra...

Performance Comparison of Turbo Coded Mc-cdma and Ds-cdma with Higher Level Modulation

Multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA), direct sequence code division multiple access (DS-CDMA) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) are the major contenders for wireless signaling technique. For higher data rates, the use of higher level data modulation is desirable. In MC-CDMA [1], the data-modulated symbol to be transmitted is spread over a number of subcarrie...
